Maude Barlow arrested

Today on Parliament Hill in Ottawa over 200 people were arrested in an act of civil disobedience in protest of the Alberta tar sands. Arrestees included Maude Barlow, Tantoo Cardinal and dozens of environmental movement leaders from Canada.

This was one of the largest acts of civil disobedience in Canada in decades, and a powerful start to the parliamentary session in Ottawa.
