If you THINK you know anything about Tar Sands /The Exon Pipeline wakeup and educate yourselves before our Country is destroyed for the sake of the almighty $ !!

  • Grace Neff

The biggest mistake our politicians could possibly make is voting for this destruction of, land and clean water, XL pipeline.

PLEASE GO TO YOU TUBE AND TYPE IN JOHN BOLENBAUGH FOR ALL THE PROOF YOU NEED WHY A TAR SAND PIPELINE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED THROUGH OUR COUNTRY. I HAVE VIDEO PROOF OF MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL THAT WAS COVERED UP AFTER THE MICHIGAN SPILL AN WHY WASN’T IT CLEANED UP PROPERLY, BECAUSE IT IS TO EXPENSIVE AND IT CAN’T BE ALL CLEANED UP TO MY STANDARDS. MY RESIDENTS ARE SICK AND THEY ARE GETTING SICKER AND THEY ARE DYING. WE HAVE TO STOP THIS PIPELINE OR OUR CHILDREN WONT HAVE A FUTURE.

Obama is sponsored by the Coal industry. He is a liar, just like all the rest of washington. Remember that commercial? The one where he stated if we can put a man on the moon we can burn coal cleanly. Sure we can. Prob is, how do you cleanly rip down a mountain to extract the coal? Oh, we just put the mountain back when we have all the coal? There is no such thing as coal being green. It’s an ancient fossil fuel, you destroy what took the earth millions of years to create. Plain and simple!

MaryAnn: You’re dead right! But, we have “monitized minds” in our government, and nothing seems relevant EXCEPT the almighty dollar! How are they going to “make a buck” if the whole country is destroyed?! Obviously, they haven’t got the brains that the Good Lord gave them! Thanks for your comment! =)

Dear Grace: Did you know the tar sands borders some of the most essential wildlife territory for many of our migrating bird species? I dread the day, when on a clear spring day, I won’t hear the songs of the wimporwill, the robin, or the turtle dove, and countless other species of birds — many migrate up to Canada to spend the summers. I already miss the monarch butterflies that used to cross our land migrating during the spring, in the hundreds and thousands. This last spring, I saw one lonely white butterfly, and don’t even know the species; Painted ladies, another species of butterfly, also used to come here in the spring migration. I’m seventy years old, and if this planet is devoid of wildlife, then maybe I should request my maker to call me home — If there are no wildlife companions to spend my time on earth with, then I wish not to be here. Thanks for making a fine point! Your kindred spirit in nature.

You need to vote against anyone who is for Tar sands and Fracking. Ask your politicians where they stand. If there is no one against this then WE need to run for office.

I cannot personally join you from the UK for action but my heart is with you all the way.
    From a downunderer.

I am doing everything I can to recruit for Washington. DOes anyone know if we will be able to camp out anywhere?

In order to get “lots of people charged up and ready to go” as Bill McKibben says in the video, we need to reach out beyond our usual circles and inform the broader public about the incredible damage the Tar Sands have already caused in Canada, their impact on climate change, and how the proposed pipeline will cause problems here. There are millions of potential supporters who who won’t come to demonstrations, who won’t be arrested, but will write the President, or will write Congress, and will speak out in other ways. Without that broader support, this movement will, unfortunately, fail because the oil industry and their call for more jobs is so powerful, especially in an election year. In addition to the video above, which is aimed more at activists than the mainstream, there is a new film that can help raise greater awareness about the many problems with Tar Sands oil, and can be used as part of a house-party and community screening campaign: WHITE WATER, BLACK GOLD. Check out the trailer and screening options here: http://specialtystudios.semkhor.com/page.asp?s=specialtystudios&content_id=28802

Let’s do the outreach and bujld the broad support needed to defeat the pipeline!

Really shows the mix of environmental and social sores this horrific operation creates. Take the message out. Transform the uninformed.

Here’s where to find my personal plea on this subject: http://j.mp/sXie25

I appreciate all the efforts afoot here, and agree that we need to act to protect nature where oil companies will not. I am hoping to join you all in Washington on Nov. 6.
